PRACTICAL GUIDE · GUANGZHOU

Getting from
Guangzhou airport.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA code CAN) is Guangzhou's main international airport. Getting from it to your hotel is the first logistical step of your trip.

In shortThe metro is cheapest and the pre-booked transfer is easiest for first-time visitors. From the airport to central Guangzhou is roughly 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic and where you are headed.

Metro

Guangzhou Metro Line 3 runs from the airport into the city and is the cheapest option. It is fast and reliable, but you carry your own luggage, and it does not drop you at your hotel door. If your hotel is not near a station, you still face a short transfer.

Taxi and ride-hail

Taxis are door-to-door but usually require cash or a local payment method, and drivers rarely speak English. Ride-hailing through Didi works well but needs the app set up with a payment method before you arrive — and you need to confirm the pickup point with the driver in Chinese.

Pre-booked transfer

A pre-booked transfer means an English-speaking driver waits for your flight and drives you straight to your hotel. It costs more than the metro but removes the language, payment and navigation friction — which matters most after a long flight.

Pair with your craft workshop

If you are joining one of our Yongqing Fang craft experiences, a pre-booked transfer pairs well with your workshop day — an English-speaking driver takes you from the airport to your hotel or the workshop in one smooth trip.
